Does that have some sort of support?

No support and it is hollow throughout most of the hand and arm. And yes sometimes I push the limits of clay too far and they push back in a most disasterous way.

Pretty amazing, something that big yet fragile looking

I call it percarious bucause it is delicate.. I would have prefered wood or bronze but clay fit the concept and its the most available medium where Im at.

mostly the earth symbology will be the arm rising out of the earth but the concept comes directly from creating sculpture from mud/earthan ware.
Thanks for looking. Oh by the way one of my favorite sculptors is Polish and I think she is still living and working there (Abakanowitz).

Yea definately joining your fan club for your ability to pust the limits.
I get a real sense of lightnes and air from this piece. The hands allow them freedom while the strands that connect the figures are like reluctant children afraid to leave home
